Near West Intergenerational School - Meet Us!

A Community of Intergenerational Learners

We're proud to say that Near West is no ordinary school. Our students work together in Learning Clusters, not traditional grades. Our students work with groups of senior citizens in our community. And we're all working on being #LifeLongLearners. Our innovative intergenerational approach was pioneered right here in our schools, and has since been studied nationally and internationally. We're proud of our unique approach, connecting students with learners of all ages. Our school is led by Principal Molly Toussant and Assistant Principal Janelle Horton, and was founded by our Chief Educator Dr. Cathy Whitehouse, with a group of pioneering parents and community supporters.

Ready to Take The Next Step?

Enrollment for the next school year is now open. Our school is public and open to all families, but we do have limited spaces due to our small class sizes (only 17 students per class). If you are interested in securing your child's spot for next year, please consider taking action sooner than later. Thanks for your interest!
